In 1998 Barfields recognized the benefit to their clients of a total commissioning package and commenced commissioning of air and water systems as a joint package with Barfield Water Treatments Ltd or as a stand-alone service.

To meet the client's needs The Barfield Group has employed fully experienced commissioning engineers and managers to ensure that commissioning is carried out as a dedicated service by fully trained staff. Barfield Commissioning and water treatment teams work closely together, each employing their own specialist labour.

In keeping with the Barfield Group philosophy, Barfield Commissioning Services pride themselves on the standard of their work and in particular their ability to resolve technical issues in a practical and timely manner. In recognition of the quality of our work Barfield Commissioning Services Ltd achieved ISO 9002 accreditation in October 2000.

Barfield Commissioning's quality assurance policy ensures that all tests are thoroughly documented and all engineers work to the same format. This limits the possibility of confusion or misinterpretation should a problem occur such as the absence of a lead engineer. During pre-commissioning activities the lead engineer will create a project file, which will incorporate all documentation plant details design information and schematic drawings of systems to be worked on, which in turn is understood by all his colleges.

Barfield commissioning encourage being involved on a project at the earliest opportunity. Our quality plan incorporates checking and recording design and installation to ensure commissioning can be carried out successfully with minimum disruptions.

All our commissioning engineers are fully trained, competent and reliable with a wealth of experience. Our work is carried out generally in accordance with The Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) commissioning codes.

Our policy incorporates in house training for our assistants and trainees consisting of practical and theory courses in commissioning practices with an emphasis on heath and safety.

Our senior engineers also attend training sessions to ensure they are aware of all company procedures, including health and safety, and also to keep up to date with new technology, which they may yet to have experience of on site.
